German sports car manufacturer Porsche remains loyal to the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The Stuttgart-based company has extended its contract with the VLN, the organisation behind the series, for several years.
It is impossible to imagine the traditional Nordschleife championship without the Porsche brand. Since 1977, the Zuffenhausen-based brand has claimed 230 victories. Added to this are 1,582 class victories. Currently, the range of Porsche models in the NLS extends from the spectacular Porsche 911 GT3 R in the top category SP9 to the near-series vehicles in the production car classes. In addition, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring with its two classes for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS models is an unrivalled success story. Launched in 2021, Manthey’s sophisticated and comprehensive service package, which is precisely tailored to the participants, is the secret to the success of this one-make trophy.
‘The Porsche brand is the undisputed number one sports car manufacturer in Germany and therefore also an important part of the 49-year history of our series,’ says VLN Managing Director Mike Jäger. ‘Knowing that this company is one of our partners makes me very proud and I look forward to continuing our collaboration. I know from countless conversations that this also applies to our teams that compete in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring and in the other classes.’
Michael Dreiser, Head of Sales Porsche Motorsport, says: ‘Customer sport and the customer teams are of outstanding importance to Porsche. They form the foundation of our motorsport commitment. The successful co-operation with the VLN over many years is a very important building block for us in customer sport. With the Nürburgring and its traditional Nordschleife as an exclusive venue, the ADAC Nürburgring endurance series offers an attractive overall package, especially for Porsche customer teams. The high number of entrants is proof of this.’
Tobias Hütter, GT Sport Specialist, Porsche Motorsport, adds: ‘The variety of different customers in the different classes is a special feature of the NLS on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. We see a particularly wide range of driver and team constellations here – from pure amateur entries to Pro-Am combinations and factory-supported Pro entries in the top GT classes. This makes the atmosphere at the Nürburgring and the co-operation with such different people within this community particularly valuable. This must be preserved. We want to support this by continuing the partnership.’
The ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season opener will take place on 22 March 2025. The 70th ADAC Westfalenfahrt traditionally opens the racing year in the Green Hell.
